OBLIVION

Today social networks are the largest cemetery in the world.

The experience of dying is currently going through a paradoxical situation: we die, but we continue to exist in our online life.

In the West, we still live in a socio-cultural context constantly committed to removing the body of the dead, death and mortality itself, from public space and public discourse. But now, in spite of ourselves, we are all faced with the unprecedented possibility of rethinking the link with death, memory, and immortality.

The series artificially combines the typical and ubiquitous symbols of the digital age, with a context that is not (yet) digitally copied, like that of a truly existing European cemetery. By doing so, the intention is to create a sort of representation of today's confusion regarding the concepts of real and living.
